I'm heading to Houston tomorrow to spend xmas with Brian and his family. Kev is home for the holidays and I know that more than anything, Brian is looking forward to spending time with his brother :-). Brian left today so he can spend extra time with Kev since he rarely sees him now. Meanwhile I've washed Ruby, and am now contemplating a quick run to help keep those extra holiday calories from sticking to my arse.
This evening I get to play Santa to Ethan and drop of a large number of Spiderman-related gifts. Ethan's very much into Spiderman right now so everything I got him has Spiderman on it, including the gift wrap :-) I can't wait to see him. Afterwards I'm heading over to Barbie's to hang out with her and her dad, Dave, who drove in from Iowa yesterday. I love Barbie's dad. He's delightfully inappropriate, unfiltered, and genuine. He always makes me laugh. I just wish Brian had got to meet him, too.
Last night Brian and I exchanged gifts after a wonderful home cooked meal, followed by two sumptious desserts at Freda's. We both got exactly what we had hoped for :-). We reserved one gift each to exchange with the family on Xmas eve.
To all my friends and family back home... I miss you terribly around the holidays, and I really wish I could see you. I'm sending you much love and high hopes for the new year!
