Executive decision

Brian and I have been thinking about having a wedding reception for all the folks in Austin that can't attend our wedding in the Dominican Republic. Barbie and Jenn have been helping me scope out some places. My top favourite was the Austin Museum of art at Laguna Gloria. Yesterday I started researching caterers and party rentals for chairs and tables and just got totally overwhelmed. I talked to Barbie on my way home and we decided this reception crap is not for me. It's too much stress and ridiculously overpriced and for what? the reason Brian and I chose a destination wedding was to avoid all this shit so why are we even considering it? I guess these stupid wedding etiquette web sites are filling my head with other people's rules and that just pisses me off.

NO! we are not doing a reception. Instead, we are going to break tradition and do something different. Screw ettiquette! We will blaze our own trail and create new traditions.

There will be an event for our Austin friends to attend, the details will be worked out some time in the future, closer ot the date, and it will be stress free for Brian and me. Afterall, why would we want to start our new life together with an event that causes a whole load of stress? the wedding industry needs a make over and America, home of the "Bridezilla" needs a large wake up call.
