Today was the Pervasive 10 mile race. This was my first time to run this race. It is a very hilly course going through some of Austin's nicest neighbourhoods and the scenery was great. The hills were steep but today for some reason I powered up each one of them passing people left and right. Jenny V ran with me the whole way. She's a fast runner and I really had no intention of keeping up with her but I guess today I was just in my groove and it worked out great to have company the whole race. Tiff did really well, too. She ran it a tiny bit slower, but not much! Brian wasn't able to run the race because his knee has been bothering him, but he did show up at the finish line to cheer us on and be supportive. What an awesome boyfriend :-)
The rest of the day has been pretty relaxing so far. I had some breakfast and hung out with Brian for a bit, then went to Costco with Barbie. I bought a pair of Lucky Brand jeans for $20!!! (online they're $98) what a steal! Afterwards we hung out at the house and had a whisky and coke with Brian (well, I had Baileys on ice), then after Barbie left, Brian watched three different sports on TV while I made some adjustments to a pair of jeans I had altered about a week ago. They had shrunk in length a little so I had to make them a bit longer.
Later today we're going to Salt Lick for all you can eat ribs, brisket, sausage, etc! I'm so excited. I have been eating light today to make sure I'm good and hungry for dinner. Right now I could eat a horse. Most likely I will eat a whole pig ;-)
Last night I went over to Jenny V's with Barbie and Tiff. She had just moved into a new house with her man, Aaron, and the place is just awesome! very roomy and a great floor plan. We drank wine, ate brownies, chips and guacamole, cheese and crackers, and popcorn (a good carb selection), and watched a movie in their media room. It's so cool to have a dedicated "media room" in your house. Barbie entertained me and Tiff on the way home with her musical ass.
Life's good.
